华中农业大学是教育部直属、国家"211工程"重点建设高校，始于1898年张之洞创办的湖北农务学堂，是中国最好的农业大学之一。学校位于中国武汉，占地5平方公里，三面环湖背靠青山，风景秀丽，毗邻知名科研院所，校内生活配套设施齐全，是理想的教学科研、学习生活场所。
生命科学技术学院拥有生化与分子生物学、微生物学等国家重点学科，生物科学、生物技术等国家人才培养基地，是作物遗传改良国家重点实验室、农业微生物学国家重点实验室和国家植物基因研究中心（武汉）等国家级研究中心的主要依托单位。学院师资队伍中有院士1名、“千人计划”（含青年项目）特聘专家5名、“长江学者”5名、“杰青”4名。
为拓展学院学科领域，进一步提升学院学术水平，现公开招聘1名社会责任感强、具有国际视野和领导能力、在生命科学领域里有较高学术造诣的院长。
一、应聘条件
1．教授（或国外知名高校进入终身系列的副教授或以上）职称，在国际上有重要的学术影响和较高的知名度；
2．熟悉高等教育规律，了解国内外高等教育情况，有管理经验和组织协调能力；曾在著名大学的院（系）、研究所或实验室担任过领导职务者优先；
3. 具有国际化的学术视野和引领本学科发展的思路；
4. 具有良好的个人品质、敬业精神、创新意识和团队精神；
5. 身体健康，年龄一般不超过50岁，具有特别学术影响者年龄可适当放宽；
6．全职到岗工作，鼓励带领科研团队成员同时应聘（团队成员条件另议）。
二、岗位职责
1．领导学院的工作；
2．把握学院学科发展方向及学科建设；
3．推动学院高水平师资队伍建设和创新团队建设；
4．提高学院的国际化水平，在科学研究、人才培养及社会服务等方面提高学院国际影响力；
5．推动学院在人才培养、科学研究和社会服务等方面全面进步；
6．在生命科学某一领域创建科研团队，能持续地做出国际水平的研究成果。
三、聘期与待遇
聘期5年；年薪人民币100万元，安家费、住房等个人待遇从优；学校提供科研启动费和实验室条件与团队建设支持，具体面议。
四、应聘者须提供材料

Recruitment for Dean of Life Science and Technology at Huazhong Agricultural University
Huazhong Agricultural University is one of the top agricultural universities, and a member of “the 211 Project” directly under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, China. Located in Wuhan, the campus covers an area of 495 hectares with well-spaced teaching blocks and laboratory buildings. It is surrounded on three sides by South Lake and backed by Lion Hill, which makes it an ideal place for teaching, researching and studying.
The College of Life Science and Technology encompasses two national key disciplines: Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Microbiology, and includes two national talent training bases: Biology and Biotechnology. The National Center of Plant Gene Research (Wuhan), the National Key Laboratory of Genetic Crop Improvement and the National Key Laboratory of Agro-microbiology are also based in the College. The faculty of the College includes one academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, five National “1000 Talent Plan” Professors, five Yangtze River Scholar Professors, four recipients of Young Investigator Award by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
The College is seeking an outstanding scientist to take the position of the Dean starting January 1, 2014. The Dean is expected to take a leadership role toward the development of a college with an international reputation by building world-class education and research programs in life sciences. Applicants should be academics with (i) an outstanding record of scholarship in a discipline of life sciences; (ii) experience in leading well-funded and internationally-recognized research activities; (iii) demonstrated leadership and management ability at an relevant level in higher education institutions; (iv) long-term vision for future development of education and scientific research in the general area of life sciences; and (v) excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The selected candidate will be offered a full professorship in his/her own specialized area, together with the position of the Dean. The selected candidate is also anticipated to set up a research team which can continuously carry out cutting-edge research in a specific area of life sciences. The application of a team headed by a distinguished scientist is also encouraged.
The appointment is for five years with the option to extend by mutual agreement. Salary will be highly competitive which may be up to RMB 1 million per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a full package of fringe benefit including medical care, settling-in and housing allowance. The University will also provide research start-up fund, laboratory and research group support, with specifics negotiable during interview.
