龙有文 ,男,中国科学院物理研究所研究员,博士生导师。2007年中科院物理研究所博士,2007-2011年日本京都大学、理化学研究所博士后,2011年9月加入物理所。国家重点研发计划项目首席,青年973首席科学家,国家自然科学基金委重点项目、北京市重点专项等负责人。现任磁学国家重点实验室主任,M08课题组长,中国晶体学会理事,极端条件晶体材料专委会副主任委员,中国物理学会电介质物理专委会委员,中国化学会高压化学专委会委员,荣获北京市自然科学奖一等奖(排名第二)。
一直从事磁电多功能材料的高压合成、常压与高压物理性质、结构与物性关系、多场调控下的结构与电子态等研究工作,并突破技术瓶颈发明了国际领先的大体积高压单晶生长方法。利用高压实验技术,获得了三十余种新型过渡金属氧化物功能材料,观察到一系列引人入胜的物理现象,诸如Mott体的绝缘体-金属化相变、金属间电荷转移、磁电多铁性与磁电耦合、高温磁性半金属与半导体、负热膨胀等等。在Nature、Nat. Commun.、Phys. Rev. Lett.、J. Am. Chem. Soc.、Adv. Mater.、Nano Lett.等期刊上发表学术论文130余篇,包括特邀综述8篇,20篇被Nature、PRL、JACS、AM等选为封面、亮点或编辑推荐。在国内外重要会议上做Keynote等特邀报告40余次,在新材料制备与器件设计方面已授权国内外发明专利13项。作为大会秘书合作举办了第26届国际高压科学与技术大会、第6届亚洲高压研讨会等多个国内外会议。

高压新材料与物理
主要研究方向:
电子具有电荷、自旋、轨道等三个重要自由度。如何把电荷与自旋属性耦合到同一单相材料中,形成磁场及电场可调控的磁电耦合多功能材料,是研制未来先进电子器件的关键。由于常压下能够形成的材料体系是有限的,为获得重大进展,本课题组致力于突破常规材料制备限制,发展国际领先的高压高温等超常规制备方法,通过设计特殊晶体结构与过渡金属离子组合,研制常规条件下不能形成的新型磁电热多功能材料,透彻研究新材料的结构与综合物理性质,发掘内在的结构-性能关系,为面向应用的多功能耦合电子器件的研究提供潜在材料基础。
1. 新型磁电量子功能材料的高压制备与物性研究。
本方向结合前沿探索与潜在应用,发挥高压高温合成条件不可替代的研究优势,制备常规条件下不存在的新型磁电量子功能材料,包括磁电多铁性材料、高性能磁性半金属、高温磁性半导体、拓扑磁电材料等等,发现新现象与新效应,促进潜在的实际应用。
2. 大体积磁电单晶材料的高压生长与物理。
单晶是研究材料本征物理性质及面向应用的最佳体系,大体积高压单晶生长是长期困扰研究人员的国际难题,本方向突破技术瓶颈发展国际领先的大体积高压单晶生长方法,制备新型磁电单晶材料并研究物质的内秉性能,利用功能晶体构筑可能的电子元器件。
3. 新奇电子态化合物的多场调控
高压既是重要的材料制备方法,也是有效的性能调控方法,本方向通过原位高压压缩原子间距、增强轨道杂化、扩展能带宽度等方式,并结合温度、磁场、电场、光场等综合条件,研究多元外场调控下的新颖量子效应与新奇物态。
4. 负热膨胀新材料探索、调控与机理
热胀冷缩是电子器件应用过程中需要避免但又普遍存在的问题,负热膨胀(即热缩冷胀)材料的出现为调控其热膨胀系数提供了解决方案。本方向立足于磁电相关负热膨胀材料基础与应用前沿,发挥本课题组高温高压合成优势,探索新型的热膨胀可控的磁、电、热多功能材料体系,阐明相关物理机制与潜在应用。
5. 磁性材料的中子和X射线散射研究
中子和X射线散射是研究磁性材料微观物性的前沿手段,依托中子源和同步辐射光源等大型科学装置,能够提供电子多自由度的相关信息。本方向利用多种中子和X射线散射手段,精细测量磁性材料的磁有序、电子轨道贡献和各类元激发,并据此确定体系的哈密顿量,从而有效探索其奇异物性的微观机理。

研究课题及展望:
科技突破与社会发展很大程度上取决于先进功能材料的发现与更新。在常规烧结条件下,新材料的研制已变得越来越难。高压作为一种重要的极端条件手段,为寻找特殊性能的功能材料提供了丰富的来源。因此,利用高压高温等超常规合成手段,是目前新材料探索领域内具有重要战略意义的发展方向。我们长期致力于发展极端的制备条件,以得到基础研究与应用研究并重的新型功能材料。同时,运用多种调控手段研究物质的晶体结构与电子性质,发掘结构-物性关系,以便设计特殊性能的新型材料。本人受科技部、基金委、中科院、北京市等项目的支持,正开展这些实验凝聚态物理与材料科学的前沿研究工作。

磁电多铁性材料是指同时具有磁有序与电极化有序的一类多功能材料,利用两种有序的共存和相互耦合,可以实现磁场调控电极化或用电场改变磁性质。近十年来,多铁性材料由于丰富的物理内含和广泛的应用前景,一直是凝聚态物理和材料科学的一个研究热点。钙钛矿氧化物是研究铁电与多铁性最重要的材料体系之一。在传统钙钛矿铁电体中,电极化来源于离子位移导致空间反演对称性的破缺。因此,人们通常认为在具有空间反演中心的高对称性晶格如立方晶格中,不会出现铁电有序。事实上,人们从未在立方钙钛矿体系中观察到铁电性。然而,在多铁性材料中,电极化的产生不再局限于离子位移,可以具有更加多样化的起源,甚至与自旋结构密切相关;同时,体系的总对称性也由晶体对称性和磁对称性共同决定,并不要求各自破环空间反演对称。一些特殊情况下,高对称性的立方晶格也可能表现出电极化和多铁性。但是,迄今为止,人们尚未找到具有立方钙钛矿晶格多铁性的真实案例。近期,中国科学院物理研究所/北京凝聚态物理国家实验室(筹)极端条件物理重点实验室Ex6组龙有文“**计划”特聘研究员与磁学国家重点实验室M06组柴一晟副研究员、孙阳研究员等合作,在立方晶格多铁性的研究方面取得了突破性进展,首次发现一种立方晶格钙钛矿多铁性材料。
化学组成为AA'3B4O12的A位有序钙钛矿为实现立方晶格多铁性提供了可能。在这个特殊有序的材料体系中,A'位与B位同时容纳过渡金属离子,可产生诸如A'-A',A'-B,B-B等多种磁电相互作用。因而,通过选择合适的A'位与B位过渡金属离子,一方面可以保持材料的立方晶体结构,另一方面亦可形成特定的自旋有序结构,并诱导出多铁性。A位有序钙钛矿往往只在高温高压的极端条件下才能获得。龙有文特聘研究员长期从事新型A位有序钙钛矿的高压制备,近年来发现了多种高压合成新体系的多种新颖物理性质。例如,首次在高压下获得了具有反常负热膨胀的磁电多功能材料体系LaCu3Fe4O12 [Long* et al, Nature, 458, 60 (2009),入选当期Nature封内推荐论文;Mater. Chem. 24, 2235 (2012)]; 反常电子态体系LaMn3Ti4O12 [Long* et al, JACS, 131, 16244 (2009)]等等。最近,利用研究团队集成的综合性能优越的高压高温制备系统,龙有文指导研究生王潇、周龙等人在高压高温条件下获得了A位有序钙钛矿LaMn3Cr4O12。结构分析表明,该体系在实验测试的温区内(2-300 K)始终保持空间群为Im-3的立方晶体结构。磁化率测试显示这个材料在150 K与50 K存在两个反铁磁相变,中子衍射进一步确定150 K(TCr)的反铁磁相变来自B位Cr3+-亚晶格的自旋有序,而50 K(TMn)的反铁磁相变则来自于A'位Mn3+-亚晶格的自旋有序。中子精修实验结果表明,这两套磁性亚晶格均具有G-型反铁磁自旋结构,自旋取向沿晶体的[111]方向。在这个体系中,虽然单独的Cr-亚晶格与Mn-亚晶格具有非极化的磁空间群,但当把这两套磁性亚晶格当做一个整体考虑时,可获得一个具有极性的磁空间群,从而满足产生电极化的对称性要求。利用自主研制的多功能磁电耦合效应测量系统,柴一晟与孙阳等详细测试了LaMn3Cr4O12的介电常数与热释电效应,发现在磁有序温度TMn处,出现介电常数、热释电与电极化的急剧改变;当外加极化电场方向反转时,热释电与电极化的符号也发生反转,表明伴随磁有序的出现产生了本征的电极化。并且,外加磁场对电极化与介电常数有显著的影响,增大磁场可大大提高热释电与电极化的强度。同时,电极化的变化依赖于外加磁场与电场的相对取向,表现出较强的各向异性磁电耦合效应。这些实验结果清楚地表明,Cr-与Mn-亚晶格的自旋有序导致了本征电极化的出现。因此,LaMn3Cr4O12成为第一个被发现的具有立方钙钛矿晶格的多铁性材料体系。
这项研究不仅在立方晶格多铁性材料的制备方面取得了重要突破,而且带来了全新的物理研究内容。密度泛函理论计算显示磁性离子的自旋-轨道耦合效应对电极化的出现起到了至关重要的作用,但是,现有的几种磁有序产生多铁性的理论模型都不足以解释这种特殊多铁性的微观起源,因此需要发展全新的多铁性理论模型。此外,由于没有离子位移的贡献,该体系的电极化可能完全由电子云的崎变产生,LaMn3Cr4O12也成了研究新型电子型铁电体的典型对象。对立方钙钛矿的多铁性起源和磁电耦合机制的进一步深入探讨,可能对多铁性新材料的探索与新物理机制的研究产生重要影响。
相关研究结果发表在近期的Phys. Rev. Lett. 115, 087601 (2015),并被选为PRL Editors’ Suggestion;同时,也被美国物理学会网站新闻评论栏目Physics选为研究亮点(Highlight),以“出人意料的多铁性(Multiferroic Surprise)”为题进行介绍(http://physics.aps.org/synopsis-for/10.1103/PhysRevLett.115.087601)。该工作的中子衍射实验与美国橡树岭国家实验室曹慧波博士, Clarina-dela Cruz博士合作完成;理论计算与东南大学董帅教授合作完成;日本东京工业大学M. Azuma教授研究组与京都大学Y. Shimakawa教授研究组合作制备了部分中子衍射样品。该工作获得了科技部青年973项目、中国科学院**计划项目、国家青年**计划项目、国家自然科学基金委、中国科学院先导B项目的支持。
